9Health Fairs: Bringing Digital Health To All Coloradoans
At Hippo, we are always looking for ways to connect with people and talk about taking control of their health in was that are effective and convenient. When 9Health invited us to participate in their Health Fair at the Fillmore Auditorium in Denver, we were thrilled to have the opportunity to spread the word about technology's ever-expanding role in health management. As our first chance to participate in this series, the Hippo team was excited to be a part of this long-running and important health-focused event: 9Health Fairs is a long-running series that has been serving the state of Colorado to provide residents with affordable health screenings from trusted providers.
What Hippo Health hopes to contribute to 9Health's efforts is an awareness of in-person and preventive care alternatives. Many patients don't understand the available options outside of the traditional process: calling a doctor's office, making an appointment, rearranging schedules to get to that appointment, then waiting for follow-ups. Though widely lauded as "the future of medicine", virtual care and other digital options face a significant challenge in patient adaptation and utilization of the technology that is at their fingertips. Our goal as a 9Health partner is to promote awareness and education around the growing ways to access quality health care and information from a phone or computer. Health tech is a constantly growing and changing category within healthcare, and we believe that everyone has the right to access tools that make taking care of our health easy, efficient, and affordable.
Colorado is fast-becoming a more modern and metropolitan state - but we can't leave our rural residents behind. Our Western Slope, mountain and plains populations face a very real accessibility problem as more hospitals and rural clinics shutter their doors. Digital health must continue to evolve, and we are committed to helping people access and use technology to close that gap in connecting with quality medical care. 9Health is working towards the same goal, and we hope to help them serve Coloradoans in the future.
What screenings can I get from a 9Health Fair?
9Health offers affordable screenings to its attendees, including blood chemistry, testosterone (male and female), colon cancer, diabetes, prostate, as well as breast health checkups and an on-site nurse to answer your common health questions. Who can participate in a 9Health Fair?
9Health Fairs offer health screenings for adults and children; however, blood cannot be drawn on anyone under 18, even with parental consent.
Where and when can I find and register for a 9Health Fair?
9Health fairs run twice a year, in the spring and fall. 9Health will soon announce its fall series dates and locations throughout Colorado; check back here in August 2018 for an updated schedule and registration of fall series events, and stay informed via Facebook.
